How to Use Series Battery Charger

As I wrote earlier, that among the ways to charge our battery is series connection method. For this time, I will share how to charge our battery with a series connection, using series battery charger.
To be more easily understood, below a scheme the way to charge the battery with a series connection

Based on the above scheme we can understand the way to charge the batteries with a series connection is; we should connect the negative battery charger output to  the negative pole of first battery. Then, positive pole of first battery connecting to negative pole of second battery. And so on, the positive pole is connected to the negative pole. And the negative pole is connected to the positive pole.
For an example, we wanna charge 3 (three) 50 Ah (ampere hours) lead acid batteries use series battery charger. So, we need 13,7 Volt x 3 = 41,1 Volt battery charger output voltage. On this way, we only need little electric current. We can use a 10 Ampere output battery charger. Caution : we must be carefull

How to Use Parallel Battery Charger

As I wrote earlier, that among the ways to charge our battery is the parallel connection method. Now I will explain how to charge our battery with a parallel connection, of course, using parallel battery charger.
To be more easily understood, below a scheme the way to charge the battery with a parallel connection

Parallel Battery Charger Using Scheme

Based on the above scheme we can understand the way to charge the battery with a parallel connection, that is; any positive pole of the battery be connecting the positive pole of the other. Likewise, every negative poles are connected to each other.
For an example, we wanna charge 3 (three) 50 Ah (ampere hours) lead acid batteries use parallel battery charger. So, we need 13,7 volt voltage and 15 Ampere minimum electric current from the parallel battery charger. 15 Ampere is calculating from (1/10 x 50 Ah) x 3 batteries. But we can rise the current until 30 Ampere to get fast charge. Avoid over-high current using when charge our batteries to avoid batteries damage.

How to Charge Battery

When the voltage our car battery or our other vehicle batteries dropped under 12 volt, we might can not turn on our car. This is because of, generally, the car voltage usage is 12 volt. So, the voltage of our battery at least must 12 volt. In this voltage dropped, we must charge the battery.
To charge battery we have two ways. First, we charge our battery use parallel battery charger and the second we use series battery charger. Although with different ways and treatment, both, series connection and parallel connection have one equation, that both require a "voltage" of 13.7 volts for lead acid battery and "voltage" of 14.2 volts for a dry battery or gel battery.
Charge batteries with parallel connection that’s mean we just need voltage, there are 13,7 volt for wet battery or 14,2 for dry battery. The greater number of battery requires a greater current from our battery charger. And for series connection battery charge we need high voltage from our battery charger, that "voltage" amount voltage multiplied number of batteries. But, if we use the second way, we do not need great current. We just need 1/10 battery size (Ah).

How To Make Automatic Car Battery Charger

On this article I wanna share about my Automatic Car Battery Charger. I call him "Giant". My truly 50 Ampere current output, on maximal condition. This article is continued from my previous article How To Make Automatic Battery Charger 25 A.

But we know that our battery can't accept too high current. Normally, the battery can accept 1/10 battery size from battery charger output. We need to adjust the current flow.
And lucky, my automatic battery charger can do that. My "Giant" car battery charger output is very-very controlled. My Giant also can charge until 10 car battery, with paralel connection. This is very-very flexible current output, the value is depending on the number of battery we charge.

How to Make Automatic Car Battery Charger? I build my "Giant" from big size components. There are ; 50 Ampere transformator with 16 Volt and 18 Volt output voltage, 70HF120 Rectifier Diode, and voltage regulator with 50RIA120 as main component.

50 Ampere Automatic Battery Charger

Automatic Car Battery Charger Kit

SCR 50RIA120 that can work until 50 Ampere electric current. He is the main gate to flow the battery charger current, when the gate is opened.
SCR BT151 that work until 5 Ampere electric current. This SCR function as 50RIA120 opener.
By this scheme, we will work until 50 Ampere current.
I hope this article will helped everyone need.
NOTE :
1.       we can play on #1 SCR to manage the current.
2.       We need to set TR 4K7 until we get the suitable cut-off voltage output we needed.
